LOC mobilizes the power of people (Light Agents) to provide coaching, consulting and development that enables individuals, organizations, and communities to operate in their best light.
About LOC
The Lights On Collective, or LOC, was established by April Kates-Ellison and Shaun J. Ellison, who are both social entrepreneurs.
Along with a team of core staff members, LOC leverages its network of volunteer Light Agents to offer coaching, consulting, and development services. The primary aim of the organization is to assist individuals, organizations, and communities in operating at their best, achieving their full potential, and shining brightly.
LOC’s operating structure and exclusive service delivery framework centers on programs and services focusing on capacity, capability, and courage building.

Participating in the Next Steps Initiative was truly transformative. It was very well attended and connected residents to needed resources. It was great to hear the different speakers and attendees share their knowledge, lived experiences, and testimonials. I look forward to the work The Lights On Collective will do in the Argo-Summit community, and beyond. I am excited to see the impact their work will have on people’s lives.
Signature Programs of the Lights On Collective (LOC)
The Next Steps Initiative is a leadership development program that was piloted in 2020. It is dedicated to helping build the next generation of leaders. The Initiative engages a select number of young adults, ages 18-30, through a 10-week online leadership development session. The program culminates with a “Pitch Session” that allows participants to present an idea or concept for ongoing development to a group of sponsors for monetary or mentorship support.
The Latinx Digital Leaders Now and The Lights On Collective partnership has truly been heartwarming. It’s inspiring to see the strategic alignment to our missions play out with a focus on social impact. We are joining forces to foster leadership, digital skills, and holistic support for our like target audiences. We’re excited to leverage our combined talent and leadership. Together we can make a real difference in our schools, in our communities, and personally with individuals.
